I am University Professor/Catedrático, Department of Operations, Innovation, and Data Sciences at ESADE Business & Law Schools, Ramon Llull University. I previously served as Dean (Faculty & Research) and Vice Dean (Research).

My current research focuses on the Deep Tech, Scientific Computing, Scientific Policy, and how these are influencing the business world (e,g, Life Science and Energy.) My research has been published/forthcoming in journals such as Organization Science, Decision Sciences, MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, IEEE Transactions, IEEE Computer, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, and others.

I have served as Senior Editor of MIS Quarterly, and held editorial positions with Information Systems Research, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Information & Organization, and Journal of Strategic Information Systems. I was the General Conference Chair of the 20th European Conference on Information Systems – ECIS 2012.

I currently serve on the boards of Worldreader and EIT Innoenergy Iberia.
